Job Description :      


You will be reporting to the COO and assist him in supporting top management in strategy formulation, strategic plans execution, strategic process improvements, and communication of strategies. You will analyze business performance, industry trends, existing or new regulatory requirements and their impact on business operations; make recommendations on alternative courses of action, including risk assessment, capital investment, acquisitions,  and expansion at the corporate level. You will also need to initiate special studies, contemporary market and competitive research pertaining to the future of the business  and implementation of initiated plans.

CONTRACTS SPECIALIST Date: 22 December, 2009
Minimum Qualification Required :      
  • Bachelors’ degree and Membership of The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 YEARS REQUIRED years experience in ship broking and chartering of which 2 years should be within the offshore marine sector.
  • Knowledge of standard forms of contract used in the offshore chartering business.
  • Knowledge of offshore vessels operations would be advantageous.  Candidates with offshore vessel operations background who can demonstrate the required commercial aptitude will be preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in reviewing, finalizing, implementing and monitoring of contacts specific to oil companies.
  • Safety awareness and exposure to International Quality Standards
  • Familiar with BIMCO & other standard forms of contracts used in Offshore and Marine sector.
  • Computer literate with good Knowledge of Microsoft office, strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent command of English language (written/spoken).
  • Must be well organized and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Must be self motivated and able to work under pressure.
  • Task oriented and with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple activities.
Job Description :      
  • Reporting to the Business Development Manager (BDM), Contract specialist shall be designated as Assistant Manager and shall be responsible for the following:
  • Build a highly professional chartering unit focused on preparing, reviewing, implementing & monitoring service contracts for offshore vessels.
  • Participate in tenders for long term and spot charters for offshore vessels; conclude contracts for the hire of owned and chartered vessels.
  • Provide professional service to the clients of HOSC owned and chartered vessels.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with clients and owners.
  • Administers overall tendering and contract activities such as; tenders strategies, approval from appropriate authorities, pre-qualification of contractors (along with dedicated team from End Users), preparation and issuance of tenders and contracts based on Company stipulations, clarification of tenders, site visits, modification of tender documents, bids evaluation based on pre-established evaluation criteria, clarification of bids, award of contracts, signing and execution of contracts.
    Supervises post contract administration activities such as; mobilization of contractors, acquire performance bonds and insurance policies from contractors, issuance of change orders, settlement of disputes and claims, cancellation/termination of contracts (if necessary), feedback from end users for future improvements, close out of contracts, issuance of final completion certificates, etc.
  • Assist BDM in negotiations, availability of vessels, off-hire situations, replacement vessels, market trend etc.
